With details of the changes in Wimbledon
This is an interesting concept put together by climate experts for publication in The Conversation.* The map shows 3 metrics for changes in climate in each constituency in the UK Over a 30 year period between the 1970s and the 2000s. The metrics are changes in winter rainfall, changes in the hottest day of the year and change in rain on the five wettest consecutive days. There is also a projection of what the future is likely to hold if these trends continue.
The results for Wimbledon show:
Winter rainfall has increased by an average of 8.7% over a 30 year period
The hottest day in the year has increased by average of 2.2°C.
The amount of rain on the wettest five days of the year has decreased by -9%
