The Government has announced a ban on gas boilers in new homes from 2025. A Council report shows that 98% of homes in Merton have gas central heating. With the probability that existing gas boilers will be phased out in time, homeowners will need to know how to go about doing that and what grants may be available.
So we have suggested to Merton Council that they should produce a guide to retrofitting buildings for local residents and we have offered to help them produce it.
We also asked for the Council’s confirmation that they will now ensure that all new buildings and alterations are carbon neutral and as sustainable as possible.
