End of the Line for Wimbledon Chase Station building?

A planning application has been filed that seeks to redevelop Wimbledon Chase Station with a new block of 83 apartments with retail units on the ground floor.  The block would vary in height from 4 to 9 storeys high.  It would extend to the pavement line, thereby building on the present station forecourt, with only a narrow entrance to the station itself.
We consider this to be over-development and have lodged an objection with Merton Council.  We are opposed to the size and scale of the proposed building and that many of the apartments would be single aspect.  The lack of step-free access to the platforms is unacceptable.
