The All England Lawn Tennis Club has now issued their third consultation on their plans for developing the Wimbledon Park Golf Club lands.  You can access their dedicated site here.

The AELTC proposes to file the actual planning application in July.

In the meantime, they have sent a Scoping Report to Merton planners outlining the areas that they would like to see included in, or excluded from, the Environmental Statement that will accompany the planning application.

We believe that all aspects of environmental policies and energy use must be included.  The golf course land is classed as Metropolitan Open Land, akin to Green Belt, and we consider that this cannot be preserved by building a 100-foot high, 8,000-seat show court on it.
