Tudor Drive, Morden (c) Merton Heritage Services and Mick Taylor

A first for the Society:

We have just produced our first ONLINE lecture as part of our activities programme. The event was delivered live on the 11th November to around 77 participants and judging by the numerous comments we received it was judged a great success. Mick Taylor delivered an informative and interesting lecture, with many slides of past and present buildings across the Borough. There is now a recording of the talk and it lasts for just over an hour, including questions at the end.

About the lecture:

How has your local area altered in recent decades? Can you remember what was there previously, or perhaps you are new to Merton and would like to know more about its past? Using images from Merton Heritage Service, Merton Historical Society and his own photographs, Mick Taylor will show how parts of Merton, Morden and Mitcham have evolved.

Mick has lived in LB of Merton since 1976. With a background in learning and development, he volunteers at the Wandle Industrial Museum and for the Merton Heritage Service. He is also part of the photographic project team with Merton Historical Society.

For those who were unable to join “live” or wish to see the lecture again please see video below. It will be available until 11 December 2020.
