Council’s New Borough Plan

Merton Council adopted its new Local Plan in November 2024. It sets out the council’s statutory planning policy framework for the borough.

The plan sets out the level of growth which needs to be planned for in Merton and identifies where that growth should be located and how it should be delivered. This replaces its previous planning guidance contained in the Sites and Policies Plan 2014, Policies Map 2014 and Core Planning Strategy 2011. All planning applications validated after 20 November 2024 will be considered against the new Local Plan.
