In planning matters, we:

  • monitor planning applications for properties in, or adjoining, the Society’s Area of Benefit
  • make representations to the Council about planning applications
  • assess and comment on revisions to the Council’s, the Mayor of London’s or the Government’s planning policies and guidelines
  • develop links with local and national elected representatives
  • develop constructive relationships and hold regular meetings with Council Officers
  • work with the Wimbledon Union of Residents’ Associations, local Residents’ Associations and other Civic Societies
  • respond to contacts made by residents or developers
  • recommend additions or changes to Conservation Area boundaries, the Council’s Local List or Historic England’s Statutory List
  • make representations on other matters that affect the good governance of our area

In environmental matters, we:

  • identify and respond to risks to the local environment and wellbeing of Wimbledon’s residents and visitors
  • respond to public consultations on issues affecting the environment,
  • participate in consultations on environmental matters
  • seek to influence positive change in environmental matters
  • support the continued maintenance and improvement of our green spaces and parks
