A little-known League Table compiled by Network Rail charts the number of times that rail bridges are hit by vehicles too large for the clearance height. The new listing for 2019/20 – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-54871244 – shows our own Lower Downs Road Bridge entering the chart at number 10= with 11 hits. This was way behind the current leader in Leicestershire with a shattering 25 hits.
